Core C: Research Design and Analysis

Overview of Services

Research design. Consult with researchers on hypothesis development, research study design, sample size determination, and appropriate measurement techniques.

Data Analysis and Interpretation. Assist researchers in identifying the appropriate analyses for proposed hypotheses and the research design, determine missing data treatments, solve issues involved with data anomalies, and interpret results of statistical analyses.

Bioinformatics. Manage and analyze large datasets of biological information, especially data from microarray experiments, provide analytic tools for interrogating data bases, provide collaborative services for genomic, proteomic, and biomedical data analysis, and develop Neural Network models.

Data Collection and Management. Establish procedures that ensure database quality and security, provide complete documentation, design mechanisms for efficient storage, retrieval, backup, and transfer to different   computing platforms and different statistical   analysis systems.

Education and Training. Provide opportunities for researchers to learn new and enhanced statistical techniques through workshops, brown-bag sessions, and seminars, offer hands-on laboratory sessions to learn new programs and procedures, and make available references and PowerPoint presentations of new techniques.
