Membership
The KIDDRC invites investigators with projects relevant to mental retardation or developmental disabilities to join the Kansas IDDRC. Membership ensures ready access to over 70 individual core services provided by the KIDDRC scientific cores.
Membership is determined 2 times per year at the meeting of the Internal Scientific Advisory Committee. Applicants seeking approval should submit:
- an abstract of the funded project
- a statement of relevance to mental retardation or developmental disabilities
- an NIH PHS 398 biographical sketch
- project dates
- for projects funded by agencies other than NIH, a more detailed description of the scientific approach will be required
Attribution
Because NIH-funded Centers are subject to regular reviews with respect to impact and productivity, it is requested that investigators provide attribution in all publications or presentations where KIDDRC services or resources supported the research described. An appropriate attribution is:
"Supported by the Kansas IDDRC, P30 NICHD HD 02528"
In cases where KIDDRC Core Staff contributed to the intellectual development of the project, provided input beyond that which would have been otherwise possible by the investigator's team, or authored any component of the text, authorship on the resulting manuscript or abstract is appropriate.
